Editorial Policy

Every constant used by our calculators is listed in the per-page constants module and in the site-wide register on our methodology page, each with its source (e.g. IRS publications, revenue procedures) and a verification status: verified against a primary IRS source, corroborated across multiple independent implementations, or pending first-hand verification.

When the IRS publishes annual figures (revenue procedures, bracket updates), we aim to update affected calculators promptly and record the change in the methodology changelog. If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the IRS source and we will verify and correct it.

Calculator results are never influenced by advertisers. Revenue comes from display advertising and clearly-labeled referral links; no advertiser sees or affects your inputs or outputs.
